Program Highlight: Lakes and Pines' Street Outreach Program
Lakes and Pines' Street Outreach Program, funded by the Minnesota Department of Human Services Homelessness, Housing, and Support Services Administration (MN DHS HHSSA), provides support to individuals experiencing homelessness across our seven-county service area. With one full-time Street Outreach Advocate, the program focuses on meeting immediate needs by connecting people to emergency shelter, housing options, critical services, and community resources, while also providing access to basic needs items. Outreach is centered on engagement and building trust, often working with individuals who have faced barriers or lost connections to traditional support systems.
The Street Outreach Program has partnered with the East Central Regional Library (ECRL) to expand access and strengthen community connections. Through this collaboration, Lakes and Pines Street Outreach services will now be available onsite at all 14 library branch locations in six of the seven counties we serve. This partnership will greatly increase opportunities to connect with individuals in need, ensuring they receive compassionate support and guidance toward stability. Staff and customers can learn more by connecting with the Community Services Department.
